Day 30 Portomarín to Palas de Rei

Today there wasn’t as much excitement about getting up and out the door
If was a beautiful foggy morning. Perfect for the long climbs ahead.
This was at the top of a very long climb. We got above the fog.
The small villages we walk through are amazingly beautiful with their rustic exteriors. This is farm land and in the villages it is not uncommon to see geese, chickens, sheep and cows right in town in the streets.
Our favorite sign….
Tortilla Patatas, my favorite breakfast.
Spanish “French” toast.

The food in this area is amazing. We have found the most amazing cafés each day.

Physically this has been a hard day with blisters and pretty tired people. My feet are still recovered and blister free, thank goodness. Tomorrow is a bit shorter day by a couple of kilometers and hopefully a few less hills.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
