Day 35 Castaneda to O Pino

As Santiago grows nearer I am doing more reflection on this journey that has taxed my body and my soul. It is so much different than the other two Frances’; not better or not worse, just its own.

There was familiarity, and then there was total surprise. Some days, I wondered how I could have walked through an area twice no without even recognizing that I’d been there before. Some areas I recognized immediately and they filled me with fond memories of past Caminos.

This journey was a reminder that you should not come to Camino with any expectations but take one step at a time and let the Camino guide your way.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
