Day 8 – Lorca to Logrono

I’ve been walking since 6 AM and there is no one on the trail in front of me or behind me. I keep checking my map to make sure that I’m on the Frances.

A solo, beautiful walk today. I did pass Jen from California that I met the first day on the Pyrenees. And then coming into Logrono I met Netti, from France. She and I were struggling three days ago and here we are today, one step at a time.

I had to make very difficult decision to come home tomorrow. I know my personality. I’m pushing myself every day when I should be resting and when I’m resting, I’m worried about all the reservations and how it is affecting the small Albergue’s. I seem to be able to walk a pretty good pace, but when I got in today, I had nothing left. My appetite is still I know I come up with zero and my cough is not subsiding.

I know when all the settle out will come up with what Camino was telling me. I don’t get sick much and so I tend to push myself and I push myself over a ledge.

Thank you all for your encouragement and following my blog.

Good night Camino Frances.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
