Today was a perfect day on the Camino. My feet were settled into my boots. The morning was glorious as we strolled through the farmland hills.
We were up before the cows.
The rolling hills brought one surprise after another.
The mornings afford long moments of solitude and reflection that I haven’t taken time for at home. No world-changing ideas have come to me, just a gratitude for the beauty of small things. Most of the time my mind is in the moment, absorbing the views, the sounds, the smells. When snippets of the past enter my thoughts, I find a feeling of contentment; no regrets but memories to cherish. When something triggers thoughts of the future. I feel a positive anticipation, no anxiety nor need for instant decisions.
Mornings; a perfect time for reflectionToday I met David (dah veed). He has a little food stand on the Camino where there is a long stretch without villages. Everything he offers is a gift to pilgrims or you can give a donation. I had seen this guy on several videos and loved his spirit. I wanted to meet him and see his small place; a pilgrims’ oasis.
We stopped and had coffee and a piece of fruit and were refreshed.
Tomorrow we climb the highest point on the Camino!

I believe gratitude for small things is what it’s all about. Bless you as you discover.
Enjoying your reflections….😊
