Am I homesick? No. If surprises me. I miss my family and friends so much, but not in a sad way. I am truly grateful for each and everyone of you. You are in my thoughts throughout the day. Your words of encouragement have made me brave and strong, but most of all thankful.
At night, I feel the sense of community in each village we visit and it reminds me why I live in Montesano and Grays Harbor and of all of you.
Today was so crazy. I loved it. I was energized at the end of the day. Our total day was 31 km. We climbed for 24 km to Cruz de Ferro.
My stones and burdens left behindIt is near the top of the highest peak on the Camino. Pilgrims leave a stone on the pile from home and ask for a safe continued Camino or possible leave a burden there represented by the stone. It is a very spiritual place no matter what the significance for each pilgrim.
As always what goes up must come down and it was 4 km straight down to our village.
Not only was it a steep decent but also rocks and shaleThe total concentration it takes to stay upright on a long downhill is invigoration. One look up at the horizon or letting your mind wander can trigger a trip you don’t want to take. I loved the hike today!!!
More downhill and steeper tomorrow morning.
Walking with you in spirit! Hugs, Carla
Always!
Thank you for sharing. I can’t believe how far you walk each day. Al and I are so impressed.

Wow another scary trail….glad it was dry. And one more reason why I couldn’t be there. No Attention Span! Love your daily posts!
It’s like playing a computer game. Or a lot like black diamond downhill skiing😊.
Grateful for u sharing your adventure. …..😊 sending vibes for easy, spiritual, pleasant days……
Feel your caring daily.
