Day 18 Hornillo de Santiago to Castrojeriz

I will update this when I get better WiFi
The mornings never disappoint.

The mesetta is not revealing anything to me yet. Sometimes lessons come later and are not a revelation

Eva and my shadows today. I love our time together; even in silence.

We started the day to a beautiful sunrise and ended in an albergue with some wonderful people and a delicious Korean meal. I love starting early to the quiet and solitude (when you finally leave the albergue) and end the day before the crazy heat of the day so you can do your laundry, let it bake in the sun, while taking a siesta.

My first empanada since I arrived. Delicious!
ONLY 501 km to go….
Guus did a great job teaching yoga for the first time; and in English !

Dinner. Delightful surprise of Korean food on the Camino.
Dinner with our friends.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.

  1. I was worried this morning because we hadn’t heard from you. Of course, I don’t think poor WiFi, my mind goes to worst case scenario. The photos are beautiful and you all continue to inspire me.
