Post Camino -Porto

We have had a busy two and a half days in Porto. It is a beautiful old town area full of so much history from all the influence from so many invasions over the centuries. The tile is so unique on the buildings and the cuisine is a refreshing change from so many pilgrim’s meals.

Food of Portugal

Breakfast
Russian inspired fried fresh cheese with house made Carmel and fruit.
Breakfast Toast
Famous sandwich from Portugal. A bit like a hot roast beef sandwich with other meats added
Chicken Timbale for dinner. Delicious.
Seafood rice dish.

Port Tasting

We went to a very interesting port tour and tasting. Interesting history lesson about the history and port industry of Porto.

The large casks are made on premise and can be used for 100 years before being sold.
Where the “good stuff” is kept.
The Duero region where their grapes are grown for their wine and red ports.

Boat Tour of Harbor

If this looks a bit familiar is was designed by the same architect who designed the Eiffel Tower.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
