…a lot about food and little else

I AM READY TO HIKE! I love Porto but it feels like it is time to get moving and test my body.

I will miss the food. Breakfast was healthy and delightful. Just what a traveler needed…oatmeal! It was filled with fresh mangos, blueberries, and honey. This was one of our favorite spots when the 2019 Camino Francis hikers visited. They have expanded to a few locations.

Ian and Laura went for lunch and I stayed in, checking in with Randy and Karen T, doing my physical therapy and visiting my favorite cafe in the ‘hood.

I ended the day with a great massage today. My rib, or whatever it is, feels better. I have had more $&@? go wrong with my body in the last few weeks than I have had in 72 years. I am determined to get this under control!!!! I cannot let these two 40 somethings out walk me. 😇

Good night Porto and goodbye. We start the Camino tomorrow.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.

  1. Looks like the amazingly delicious Sangria I had in Porto last October while listening to Gypsy jazz!!
Enjoy that Camino—hope your spirit soars and your body cooperates.
