What an amazing time we are having in Spain visiting Maria and Benny’s “mansion” and their favorite places near by. We can never thank them enough for this visit and their hospitality.
Their property is a few miles from Lanjarón in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, southeaster Spain. It is a olive farm that has a farm building on it that they are converting to a cabin. It is rustic, very charming and makes them both very happy.

For three days the quiet little village of 3,000 people has been turned into a sea of people for the Water Festival. Late into every night there were parades, water “fights”, singing and dancing through the main street. The Spanish people know how to enjoy their festivals and community time together. It was very enjoyable.
A Hike around Lajarón – 4.5 miles
I decided to take a walk around Lajarón while Maria and Randy were out for a bike ride. The trail traversed up the back of a mountain behind the town and then back down through the center.

Granada

Sentinel de Las Bodegas
Maria took us to a wonderful city originally built into rock mountains.

Ronda
Our last evening in Spain was in Ronda with the. Ronda is known for its cliff-side location and a deep chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the town.

We asked our hotel for a recommendation for a place to eat dinner and she recommended a local tapas bar that was outstanding. A perfect end to a wonderful Spain vacation. Thank you Maria and Benny❤️❤️ .
The festival took me back to when I was in Spain in college! They truly know how to enjoy coming together and I miss that fun with total strangers! Wonder to see Uncle Randy getting in on the fun and I will ALWAYS recognize Maria’s face for her beautiful eyes! I’m seriously enjoying this trip through your eyes. Had forgotten how much I enjoyed the south of Spain when Gary and I drove thru it to get to Alicante. 😘😘😘
