Celebrating the Summer Solstice

I started the day with a great walk along the bay which is a mere block from Maria’s home.

We ended the day with a solstice party at Maria and Benny’s farm. It was a wonderful day of food, friends and a head butt the was quite jarring from one of their sheep. Maria had warned me but I thought, “how hard can a little head butt with a sheep be?”

Don’t let this innocent be face deceive you!

Well….my phone when flying and I was set back in the heels, barely able to keep my footing! I gave him a wide birth after that and wished him a happy trip to the butcher! Perhaps I will be dining on his leg the next time I see him.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
