Day 23 – La Virgin del Camino to Hospital De Orbigo

Today I felt like I was on the Camino. I know that sounds strange, but I felt a lightness. No more huge Camino signs that no one can miss. I am back to having to look for those yellow arrows and being in the moment as I walk.

Today was 17 miles and I feel it tonight. Those last few kilometers are always endless. As much as I enjoyed the day it was a grind those last 2 old. But as I walked over the endless beautiful bridge….

I walked into the town to look up and see these two, walking toward me.

They walked me to my Albergue that is right across the street from theirs.

My Albergue is very artsy filled with the owners work and pilgrims art also. There is a little studio set up for pilgrims to sit and create.

And in the Albergue I met up with two young women that I haven’t seen since week one!

Al, Barb & I went out for dinner.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
