Day 25- Astorga to Rabanal

Hmmm, as easy as yesterday seemed for the same mileage, today was much harder. It was the heat with barely any shade. It was in the mid 80’s today with no wind. This was a real test for day #1 for Nancy. She did a great job!

Today was a day of meeting new Camino friends and reuniting with “old” friends.

We had late lunch with Barb and Al. Tomorrow we will move ahead of them until Santiago. I will truly miss running into them in these small villages and having these great afternoon fun chats!

Nancy’s first Albergue life.

Tomorrow we leave in the dark. We have a longer day and hotter weather. So headlamps on we will depart. Luckily we can make coffee before we leave because there will be a few miles before a village with coffee and our first breakfast.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
