Day 28 Cacabelas to Vega De Valcarce

It was a wonderful quiet walk in the dark this morning. The moon was full and the sky was an array of stars. The coolness of the morning was a great break from yesterdays finish in the heat of the day.

Even though it was a long day of road walking, it was quite pleasant. And those of you who have followed my walks know that I hate road walking!!! This area is beautiful and we walked through the base of the mountains, into vineyards, through logging communities and medium sized cities.

Today Vini joined us to start her first Camino.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
