Day 30 – Liñara to Triacastela

Sleepless on the Camino….This was Vini’s first night and Nancy’a 2nd night in a bunk room Albergue. Neither of them could sleep. So we got up at 5:00, out of the Albergue by 6:15 leaving a tramatizes bunk mate. There is an art to leaving a shared room quietly and we failed.

But what a wonderful walk! We had quite a lengthy headlamp walk but when the sun came up the views were spectacular.

Nancy got a hotel in another town to help her get some sleep. Her town is on the alternate Camino so we will not walk together tomorrow.

Today is the day that April and Chase arrived. They had quite an adventure trying to meet up with us. Somehow they were on city busses then country travel busses. They landed in Lugo, quite north of us and then finally had to take a taxi to us only to find we were staying in a bunk room. It is a great albergue and our co-ed room of twelve only has eight pilgrims.

I am sure there will be stories of four of us trying to quietly leave the room at 5:30 am.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
