Day one: One forgets how much time and energy it takes to get to Europe. Well worth the effort, but the hours in the plane takes it’s toll. And no matter when I go, I never go rested.

So our wonderful overnight in Dublin was measured by a great pint of Guiness and mediocre bangers and mash and a wonderful nights sleep in a great backpackers hostel. The beds were wonderful and it was relatively quiet for being in the hub of the city.

Day 2: I woke up this am with no pain so am feel very optimistic! We had a 3 am wake up to catch our plane to Madrid and then another connection to Oviedo. We both cannot wait to get started on the Camino.
Our flight landed just in time for us to walk through the airport and onto the bus to Oveido. We got off the airport bus after a 45-minute ride and wound our way through this charming city to our hostel. Unpacked to repack and then off to get our Camino Credentials at the Cathedral.

We did a little bar hopping…..ran into our first adventure…
We found a cute coffee shop/bar to take refuge in as we waited for Jamon Jamon to open. The bar was filled with locals and the waitress was perfect.

Then we were off to of of the best evening I have had in a Camino. The bar was filled with locals, the food was great, the owner charming. He spoke no English, we speak no Spanish, yet we conversed over wine, beer and food!

Tomorrow we hike..
