Humm- I think I told my nephew, Adam that the first 6 days were going to be a breeze, just flat, no problem! 😳16 miles of boardwalk and hard surface proved me wrong. Feet hurt, back hurts and I was exhausted when I arrived at the Albergue.
But the day was beautiful. A little rain a lot of sun. I didn’t think about how exposed you are all day. There is literally no shade unless you’re stopping and having coffee, pastel de natas, fresh orange juice or a beer. I had to take breaks to have all of these so that I could protect myself from the sun.

The Albergue was nice. I was in a room of six people. There were two German men, father and son, two young women friends, and the young single woman walking along. We talked blisters and packs and then everyone went out to find food.
I had a wonderful dinner at a charming little café that’s been around for four generations! They serve delicious Portuguese dishes, and they even have their own wine made just for the restaurant. Plus, they grow their own vegetables and are committed to a sustainable kitchen. I chatted with one of the owners, enjoyed a tasty meal, and met another pilgrim who had just started the Camino that day. A great evening for €15.
The food looks great! Glad you are making friends 🙂
