a 2 km , 1000 foot climb was our first order of the day
we made it! the cities in background is where we started. an 1 1/2 hours agoToday was a long hike. According to maps 26km but my GPS said 30km. It certainly felt like 30 km. It was in the high 90’s with some areas of no shade for several kilometers but luckily there was a wind (unfortunately not to our backs).

Two days of the meseta and we are doing well. Debby’s foot is manageable and her rib is getting better. She has a few blisters but managing them. My shoulder seems to be getting a bit more annoying. It is manageable but never comfy for long. I am going to send some things to Santiago that I am not using at our next large city. My dear friend Sheri Sinclair sent me some exercises to try. So hopefully our bodies will be more settled the second half of our Camino, which we will be ½ way in two days.
Our albergue is out of the center and had poor food but nice owner.
