I am sitting in the forest, in a chair swing, in my pj top and towel as a skirt, drinking 1.5€ a glass Vino Tinto, waiting for my clothes to dry and for dinner to be served.
Chilling…We are at an Ecologically Albergue that is certified organic. It is rustic and charming. Our host are volunteers from Australia that are helping the owners for a couple of weeks for room and board. They have been traveling Europe and the Americas for almost two years. Very interesting young couple.
Today was almost too perfect to talk about. The view this morning took my breath away.
Then I walked with a young Scottish guy for a bit and we were talking about our Camino. He also took off during the lightning and thunderstorm yesterday and began to talk about the totally new smells that he couldn’t quite figure out during the storm compared to the other smells he had experienced on the Camino. It was the first person I have talked to that had been thinking about the beautiful aromas of the Camino that I have been so fascinated with. Crazy how the Camino puts two people together for a moment to share a like experience on the Camino. He is also walking because a friend of his walked the Camino a year ago. The friend owns a restaurant😊and he said that he came back a changed man; calmer and more relaxed than he had ever seen him.
After a good vegetarian dinner with pilgrims from Italy, Spain and Denmark we settled into our bunks for the night. No WiFi so I won’t be posting until our first cafe stop.
