You know the old saying, “Watch what you ask for”? Today was an amazing climbing day. We started out in pouring down rain, thunder and lightning. Then we meandered through the valley floor for about 12 km until the climbing started. I believe we climbed from 700 meters to 1350 meters in 7 km.
The view at the top was well worth every step.
On the way up the mountain we moved out of the Provence of Leon and into Lugo. We are now less than 150 km to Santiago. I am not sure how I feel about getting so close to the end. There is so much to absorb every day that I know it will take months to sort it all out.
The village we are in is O’Cebreiro. It is small and you definitely start to see and feel the Celtic influences.

Because it is so small and everyone walks through the center we have run into some Camino friends.
Then I spent the afternoon visiting with my young friend from WWU.
It was a good day and I am looking forward to the giant downhill tomorrow. The hot weather is no longer and I can now sleep under a sheet and blanket!
