‘Twas the Night Before the Camino..

Crazy couple of days. It all started with a few pings from my airline with minor changes. Then they became more serious, “You have 72 hours to accept these changes….”. After two days of trying to decipher the emails, I discovered that we no longer have return tickets from Paris to Calgary. Our carrier dropped their Sunday flights to the North America (caught in the jet liner grounding) so they just arbitrarily started our journey home from Canada’s east coast. I guess we were suppose to swim across. 😎 All fix with an extra day in Paris to sit in a cafe sipping coffee and eating pastries. I will have lost so much weight on the Camino 🤣I will have to bulk up again😘.

🎶 My bags are packed, I am ready to go…🎶

I am ready to go. I have said my goodbyes, turned the reigns of Savory Faire over to Josh, Randy and our great staff. We fly out at 10:45 am. Approximately 24 hours later we will arrive in Biarritz, France for a night on the French Atlantic shore before heading to our starting point of the Camino, St. Jean Pied au Port. Willa will join us here. She has been having some pre Camino European adventures for the last week or so.

It’s real! Time to start the journey and see where the Camino leads us.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
