By taxi, bus and a short walk….
placeholder://As I am flying by three days of walking in the matter of an 1 ½ hours. I am longing to be on the Camino but happy to have barely searing feet.
Note to Self: when I quit being flexible then it is time not to travel.
At the small bus stop they have wonderful WiFi so I am able to catch up on my blog. Also, I noticed one my friends from Vermont walking by. They are staying in Santo Domingo. Was out getting ice for Cheryl. She has a knee injury that has stopped them for a few days. This is her first Camino and I believe it his second.
It is so strange how paths keep crossing. I knew they were days in front of us and now they will probably bus to Burgos for recovery.
There are lots of injuries popping up on the Camino now. One Spanish, young women was at the bus station and on her way home because of a hip injury.
The bus is a luxury liner for 4 euro. My taxi just to the next village was 20 euro. What a deal.
The bus ride is right next to the Camino. It makes my heart heavy and I miss Eva already. She is such a strong young woman. She takes others’ advice to heart. She is adventurous yet careful. I am so lucky to have this time with her. Although her daily introspective questions challenge me occasionally 😎.
I found my hotel easily and am settling in for the day.
Every day I learn something about you and myself. Thank you for this blog.
Philip feels your pain, Candi. He recalls he could feel every Little Rock he stepped on, driving a nail into his foot. We are enjoying your posts, beautiful photos and updates nonetheless. Sorry to hear the blisters are impacting you this time around.
