Shin Splints….

I did 120 miles of the Dingle Way with no blisters, no injuries, and now I have shin splits from sprinting to catch the train. One of us “lost” our phone and we almost missed our train to Dublin! But our stars were aligned, we made the train and the phone was found packed in luggage. Traveling is an adventure.

I always find it difficult to go from the peacefulness of the countryside to a city. Dublin is amazing but give me a village any day.

Our first day we shopped and the ended up in a local pub that was great fun.

Indoor seating had just opened for vaccinated people only. Mask required unless eating and drinking.

Then off to one of the most extraordinary dinners in a long time, perfection.

Two days in Dublin…

We tried a few if these in two weeks.

Then Maria Arrived!!!

My heart is full.

It was hard to say goodbye to Maria and to Ireland, but home is calling.

May the Irish hills caress you.

May her lakes and rivers bless you.

May the luck of the Irish enfold you.

May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
