Not too much to say about today but I am happy to finally be settled in my Albergue. It was a 4:30 wake-up in our Albergue with numerous phone alarms going off.
Notes for group sleeping: -Turn your alarm to vibrate only. -Get you backpacks ready the night before and take them into other spaces to finish up. -Two bathrooms for ten people? Limit your time in there.
Simedaya have no highlights yet are beautiful in the familiar. Many memories of past Caminos and friends came to mind today with a cafe where I met a hound Danish brother and sister to areas that felt as familiar as trail I hike weekly at home.

I walked solo most of the day again. It is nice to have the time to reflect. But just when I felt a bit lonely Maria and Guntur were there. That are a bright spot in this Camino. These two truly shine with the spirit of the Camino.

The last two legs of this part of the trail were a bit daunting. It was hot (in the low 90’s) and the trail is completely open on a hill side. I met a young attorney from New York at the top of the mountain and we walked in together.
Camino friends were at the first bar and Jolanda waited for me to walk to the Center. The final 5 K through the outskirts of Pamploma is one foot in front of the other until you finally arrive at the historical center.
I had a very nice room with a new camiga arriving later. Was able to organize and get a quick pincho and beer with Ernest.
