Rioja is a beautiful rolling countryside. The vineyards are abundant and ready for harvest. A pilgrim told me that he had been walking with another pilgrim who is a “wine expert”. The guy told him that the Spanish winemakers don’t expect a good vintage because the weather is already too ripe.

The changes in trails are hard on the feet. I have some sore, tired feet at the end of the day. I also had a BLISTER. I could not believe it. I had a hot spot on my toe so was diligently taping and checking it (little pig who “had none”). It still hurt so I retaped, rechecked and nothing. So I had Johanna look and “little pig who had roastbeef” also had a blister! I think the fourth toe had sympathy pain for the third row! So I threaded it and covered the blister and now all is well.

We met a new friend Kristin from Finland for dinner. Our Pilgrim three course meal was $15 each with a bottle of Rioja!
