Today I started with “I just want to get to the end of the day” to really enjoying the time on the Camino. We walked from vineyards to fields that were being prepared for next year’s sunflower and potato crops.

Santo Domingo is a charming town. Jolanda and I had a real hotel tonight and what a treat. Real towels, sheets and blankets. Luxury!
We met up with Heidi, from Switzerland and Kristen from Finland. We had a nice meal in the plaza and was treated to a local youth drum corps and some type of ceremony.

Tonight it rained. We didn’t get in a lot of looking around the town because of the weather. It was great to see a couple of familiar faces. Many of the people we started with have taken days off or have already completed the days they had planned to walk. Some are ahead of us, but I am sure that our paths will cross again.
The competition for beds is really causing a lot of stress with pilgrims. It has taken a great deal of time trying to get reservations booked and changing where I thought I would end up. In fact I am going to be a day behind in my scheduled time to arrive in Sarria so I am trying to figure out how to make up that day over the next two and half weeks.
I am just amazed you choose to do this! So arduous at our age. Good for you!
