My Whirlwind Italy Trip…

Brenda and I are traveling separately both coming and going to Italy. Brenda is leaving before me with a two-day stopover in Iceland. She will meet me in Rome on April 3. I’m flying out of Seattle in one day. I have a 1.5 hour layover in London at Heathrow Airport which is a bit concerned with customs and reaching my new gate. I decided that I can always take a different flight to Rome later in the day if I miss my connection.

Packing has been a bit of a challenge for me because the last few years my trips in Europe have been for hiking the Camino only or visiting Denmark which is as casual as the PNW. On this trip, we will do very little hiking, mostly sightseeing and city life.

I bought an new @cotopaxi suitcase backpack. So far I love it. I am able to get all my 10 day packing in it and it meets the new European carry-on requirements. Today I will finalize my packing and get ready for my Italian adventure.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
