Today the morning was cool and refreshing. A nice walk through some woods and countryside with just a bit of background noise from the freeway that runs parallel to this part of the Camino. I’m looking forward to the day. It’s not as hot as yesterday.

If I could whistle like my dad, I would have a great conversation with the birds ever morning. They even try to respond with my feeble attempt at aping their morning tunes. I need to get the bird app so that I can see who I’m “tweeting” with.

One of my favorite Camino stops.
I am getting a group of familiar Camino faces with our paths crossing daily, hourly or periodically. We might share a meal or just a moment on the trail, but it feels like you are seeing an old friend.

I experience this today at the end of my walk into Pamplona. Begonia, from Spain, was walking an alternate path into the ancient walls and our paths intersected before the finally walk in.

I have developed a really deep cough, which makes it difficult to be in an Albergue. I rented a private room and the one I stayed at but two things went wrong.
1-it was directly connected to the bathrooms. This meant everybody who got up in the night or came in late from a party in the city, I could hear peeing and lights going on and drunk fumbling around. And then they could hear me cough all night.
2-I almost smothered myself in my pillow, trying to muffle my cough since everyone could hear everything in my room through the transit. As I almost passed out from lack of oxygen, I decided that this technique wasn’t a very good idea because who was going to find me until the next late morning as they cleaned the rooms😳? So no sleep for me all night…..

By the time you read this, I hope your cough has diminished and that you’re feeling better.
