I think that I might’ve been the only pilgrim that stayed in this cute little town. I know I was the only one who stayed in my Albergue/Rural Hotel. I saw the owner one time and then that was it. A nice place for the price, but not the usual friendly Camino welcoming.
The good thing about me deciding to stay in small small villages off the “normal” stages is less chaos but I do miss the evenings together with other pilgrims. Last night I got was a much needed great night sleep and didn’t have to cough into a pillow🤣.
This morning, I had to be very mindful where I stepped because the snails were out having a foot race across the path. I didn’t want to step down any of them. Later the guy who passed me picked him up and put them to the use of the road. He must have stepped on one!

Today I made it my intention to remember what a privilege it is to walk through the Spanish countryside. I get to observe the community people going about their daily jobs working, working in the gardens and always taking the time to say hello and wish me a Buen Camino.

Walking the same route is like doing a puzzle. Just when you don’t recognize a place a piece comes into focus along with a memory.

An end of the day for a pilgrim….

So now I am going to take a siesta. The Pilgrims meal is at 7:30 but since I am the only pilgrim (again), maybe I will order from the bar (cafe). The owners of this Albergue are from Europe, lived in Tucson for many years, and now are running this business.
I have loaded up on allergy drugs, on steroids, feeling a bit better but cannot hold a walking conversation. I am sure pilgrims are missing my sage advice!🤣
Since I am not a good walker, you inspire me every day. Sorry about the allergies glad you got some relief when you stopped. Thank you for sharing. Pixie (Kate’s gramma)
What an adventure! Even though you’ve done it before, every trip seems different. I continue to marvel at your stamina!
