Day 8 – Viladesuso to Nigran

Today was full of surprises. First time I thought it was a 12 mile day and it ended up being 16. I thought the terrain was going to be fairly flat and it was constant climbing and descent. Also, without going off trail, there a few places to stop for beverages or food.

With the variety of trails, surfaces and quirky little things that made me smile, it was another good day.

This was the biggest climb of the day.

And a LOT of street walking. Sometimes I had to pin myself up against the wall as cars and trucks sped through narrow streets.

And when I had almost given up hope of being at the end of the day….

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.

  1. Candi, if I ever do get to do this with you I can guarantee that I am going to drive you crazy with saying, “Oh my god this is SOOOOAHMAAAAAZING!!!!” every time we pass anything not built in the last 1000 years. So, it will pretty much be on constant loop.
