Day #14 – Poncesures to Riotinto

Another wonderful day. I finally have my Camino legs one day from Santiago. That, unfortunately is the downside of the shorter Caminos. When you finally don’t think about your feet, your hips quit hurting and your backpack feels like nothing, the Camino is over. In the longer walks you have time to explore your thoughts, dreams and inner self after the body has adjusted. Then if on the even longer Caminos you have the joy of the spiritual journey of mind, body and soul in alignment.

Music on the trail…

Today was continual reunions with people I have met over the past 14 days and even meeting new people that brought joy to my day.

The Camino seems to always bring the right people into your walking life when you need them. And I am not sure what to make of the comment from one Camino friend that my name came up in conversation in the bathroom line today🤣!

My Albergue is very nice. My bunk room is women only, four from Germany and one Australia.

They even have a food truck.

Tomorrow I have a short walk into Santiago. It will be wonderful to be there again.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.
