It was a quick walk into Santiago through villages, cityscapes, wooded areas and farms. Starting early and walking a shorter distance into Santiago proved to be a good strategy because there wasn’t a crazy amount of pilgrims yet.

Walking into Santiago

Getting my Compostela…
I had such a wonderful conversation with an American volunteer at the Pilgrim office. Her name is Roberta and she is a retired high school teacher living in Santiago right now. Usually you don’t get the opportunity to ask questions and talk too long at the counter because there’s so many people coming in, but she was gracious enough to spend some time talking about life and the Camino. She was just the person I needed to talk to at the finish of this Camino.

I checked in at my hotel, wandered the streets a bit and went for tapas at my favorite tapa bar.

Now to bed because I have a 4 AM wake up to catch the train to Madrid. Then on Sunday, I fly out for home.

Sending good thoughts you way for a peaceful trip home. Thank you for taking me with you on this journey. I have enjoyed your posts. Hugs!
Thank you Carla🥰
Another Camino in the books! Sounds like it was a great trip.
I certainly learned a lot this Camino.
