Day 22. Terradillosto Calzada del Coto

Today I am walking alone and we are going to take different paths to meet up two days from now.

I am getting a bit lonely on some days. The Camino is thinning out and it is rare that I have someone in front or behind me. Some days that is fine, but other days it is nice to share observations and conversations during the day and not just over a beer in the evening.

You know I cannot resist bicycle art!

Eva turned back from going on ahead and then Willa came back. We had a nice dinner in a very small bar and then to bed. Eva has decided tomorrow to take the inland route again with Willa and I am going to take the more shaded route.

Not quite the hotel I was yearning for but the only albergue in the village.

I am a woman of age reinventing myself in my 70’s. I owned a restaurant for 36 years, was a high school CTE instructor in Culinary Arts, and I’m now looking for my next chapter in life. I am restless. I do know that hiking, travel, and sharing my love of food and wine will play a part in my new adventures.

  1. Candi, I am really enjoying your Camino. 🙂 Walking alone, walking with others, dealing with aches and pains, the food, the beer, the wine, loneliness and exhaustion and also enjoying the Spanish countryside and villages. I can’t wait to hear about it all when you get back. Buen Camino!

  2. Pix are great….so happy you’re having this memory making experience with Eva and Willa. Hope to see you before too long….would love to hear of your soul searching on those solo days…xo
